Jude Law Opens in Hamlet
Hamlet, starring Jude Law in the title role, opens at Broadway's Broadhurst Theatre.
Directed by Michael Grandage, William Shakespeare’s iconic revenge tragedy finds Prince Hamlet consumed with grief and determined to avenge his father’s apparent murder, with devastating consequences for his family and the kingdom. The production played London's Donmar Warehouse earlier this year.
Law returns made his Broadway debut in 1995 with a Tony-nominated turn in Jean Cocteau’s Indiscretions (Les Parents Terribles). His other theater credits include Les Parents Terribles (National Theatre), Dr. Faustus, ‘Tis Pity She’s a Whore (Young Vic) and Death of a Salesman (West Yorkshire Playhouse). His film credits include The Talented Mr Ripley (BAFTA Film Award), Wilde (Evening Standard British Film Award), Cold Mountain, Road to Perdition, Closer, Alfie, The Aviator and Sleuth and the upcoming Sherlock Holmes, The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus and Repossession Mambo.
